Bryan/Peyton Wedding- Birmingham, AL

Well friends, 2016 is almost halfway gone. Can you believe it? What a year it has been! It's the first week of May and I've already had the honor and privilege of being the DJ for another wonderful couple as they celebrate their marriage. Peyton and Haley Allen were a blast to work with and their pick of the gorgeous Summit Club in Downtown Birmingham as their venue was nothing shy of BREATHTAKING. As the guests began to arrive off the elevators on the 31st Floor, overlooking the beautiful Birmingham skyline,we celebrated with a cocktail hour and full service buffet provided by the Summit Club. The cake was placed under the grand chandelier and the full service bar served the guests drinks all night. As the night continued, the guests packed the dance floor and we even got serenaded by "Vanilla Ice" as he rapped "Ice Ice Baby"! It was a fun night for everyone involved and I'm stoked to have had the opportunity to work with such a cool couple! Thanks for the GREAT reviews!

Special Thanks to the Bryan and Peyton Families, Amari Photography and the Summit Club staff.

Welcome to 2016!

Welcome to the New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New Years holidays. The holiday season seems to get busier and busier every year making it a difficult time for families to actually relax and celebrate the REAL reason for the season. I hope during the busy schedules of family visits, working, shopping and eating, you took some time to take a deep breathe and celebrate with your loved ones.

NEW YEAR=NEW MARRIAGES:
It is a new year and with that comes new resolutions, new plans and plenty of changes! If you, like some of my clients, got ENGAGED over this holiday season; I hope you will allow me to help guide you through this extremely fun process.  I know how exciting and sometimes nerve-racking that planning a wedding can be! I hope that during the planning process you can find the vendors that fit perfectly to you and your family's plans. Many times during the planning process finding a Wedding DJ or entertainment is sometimes the last thought while you're out looking for a venue, meeting with planners, trying on dresses and sampling cake. Let me encourage you to take some time to really look over your budget and make a spot for entertainment. Like I tell all my clients during our meetings... Very seldom will your guest remember, 10 years down the road, what color flowers were arranged in you table centerpieces... But they WILL remember if they had a good time! I hope that during your planning process that you will take some time to contact me and allow me to help make your Special Day one to remember!

UPDATE ON THE NINJA:
This winter was definitely one for the record books! Aside from graduating college, continuing to work as a full time firefighter and playing Santa for my precious 2 year old; I've also gotten to work some great and successful events as the party planner and DJ. With the New Year now upon us, dates are booking for Spring and Summer Weddings, private parties, school dances and a few more large sports and CrossFit events. Be sure and contact me for dates and availability to make sure you can get your favorite DJ :)
As always, I wish you the absolute best this New Year!

Life and Times of DJ NINJA

Hey everyone!
Thanks for stopping by the blog and checking in on DJ NINJA.
WOW! It has been a crazy busy Summer and Fall. As I finish my last semester of college and balance working a  full time Fire Dept job, DJing for the best clients ever and raising my precious toddler; things are a little crazy as you may imagine. I had some awesome opportunities to DJ a few incredible CrossFit events,  Charity 5K's, Homecoming parties and a few weddings over the course of the past few months and as always... Had a GREAT time!
Special Thanks to Clay and Amy Adams with WODLIFE,  Kelly and Staci Olcot from CrossFit J19,  Kerri Pate and the Thompson 8th Grade parents, Mike Jezdimir and his Transverse Myelitis Foundation, Jeff and Katelyn Reed and everyone else who brought me into your event! I had a wonderful time and know that all the events were a HUGE success.

You can ALWAYS DONATE at anytime to the Mike Jezdimir Transverse Myelitis Foundation by clicking on the link below. These donations go strictly toward finding a cure for the disease many have come to know as TM.

Here's a few pics from some of the events and I've even thrown in a couple personals so you can see what Ninja and my lil ninja do for fun in our little bit of down-time....

Thompson Homecoming

I really enjoyed DJing the Thompson 8th Grade Homecoming. The parents of the kids put in some extra effort and continued the tradition of the Homecoming Dance AFTER-PARTY! The kids were awesome, full of energy and super polite and well mannered. I had a BLAST and hope to start a new tradition as the permanent AFTER-PARTY DJ!

Here's the last pic of the night with some of the kiddo's...
They enjoyed getting to hang with the DJ

WODLIFE Summer Games

 WODLIFE Summer Games

On June 28th-29th I had the opportunity to DJ for WODLIFE at the annual Summer Games CrossFit Competition. It was a LONG weekend but one of the most FUN events that I've ever had the pleasure to work at. There were up to 1200 people who came to the Avondale District to compete, cheer and party with us on stage at Avondale Brewery!

Special Shout-Out and Thanks to my good friend Chuck Holderfield aka DJ DiJital for helping me out, giving me breaks and most of all...having a best friend to hang with all weekend!

Ho-Ho-Holidays!

Hello Everyone!
Thanks for taking a second to swing by the blog of your favorite DJ!
As everyone can tell, FALL IS HERE! The brisk morning and evening temperatures have finally gotten everyone into the Seasonal Spirit. Houses around the neighborhood have began taking down the Go Panther Football signs and replacing them with Turkeys and fake fruit baskets, some are already posting signs for Christmas and decorating mailboxes with green and red bows. With the fall season officially underway, it is now time to gear up & get to planning those holiday parties.
Over the past few years, I have had a great opportunity to DJ and entertain at a wide variety of Christmas, New Years, High School/College, and Kid's Events during this busy time of year. Corporate Christmas Parties are normally the events that get the most planning time, followed by School Functions and then Club or Private parties. If you are planning your Corporate or Private Holiday Party, be sure to plan for entertainment.
Over my career as a DJ, I have seen the negative effects of not planning for QUALITY entertainment in the party budget. While I was working for an entertainment company out of Birmingham, I fielded many phone calls during this time of year, asking for prices and availability. While these are absolutely honest questions, I want you to think about a few things......
How many people are you planning to host?
How much money have you spent to lease or rent a facility?
How much money have you spent on FOOD?
How much money have you spent on decorations and decor?.....

Now, imagine a large company who is planning a Christmas party for 250 employees. The company has spent roughly $4,000 on food and adult beverages and put another $500 into decorations, a live Christmas tree, lights and other decor. They spent $500 to rent a facility.

They "need a good DJ", because a few years ago they played an Ipod and the battery went dead and last year they hired a "DJ" who they paid $50 and a couple beers for 4 hours of entertainment..... and needless to say, "it didn't turn out so well".
Let's be real people, No "real DJ" is going to do what he does for $50, especially if it is during the Holiday Season when that DJ has a family and gatherings of his own. I have, in the past,  ask clients politely over the phone who were "needing  a deal";  "If you were an accountant; would you do my taxes for free?"
Most of the time, the answer is no.

Needless to say, you get what you pay for. So keep in mind while planning your next event, that in order to get the quality that you are looking for, sometimes you have to book the quality entertainer.

I hope that if you are looking for a fun DJ for your holiday event this year, that you will consider giving me an opportunity to be a part of your team.  Thanks for the love!

FALL is Underway!

Greetings Everyone!

Thanks for taking the time to swing by today. As you can imagine, it's been quite a busy fall with winter right around the corner. Aside from the normal work, school, coaching, family life with complicated schedules and duties;  I've also had the opportunity to DJ a couple of Weddings, a HUGE CrossFit competition hosted by CrossFit Alabaster and the Shine 4 the Spine Charity Run at Veteran's Park. The Mike Jezdemir Foundation holds this Charity 5K annually to raise funds and awareness for a disease called Transverse Myelitis, also known as TM.
